As part of the lead up to this year’s OSA Soccer Summit, we’re taking you behind the scenes to hear from some of our speakers and their thoughts on sport, soccer and development.
Today, we’re speaking with Dr. Stephen Norris, the Executive VP and Chief Sport Officer of Winsport Canada. Norris played a key role as a primary consultant to the ‘Own The Podium’ program high performance/technical group (led by Dr. Roger Jackson), which was the agency tasked to spearhead Canada’s Winter Olympic Sport performances in the five years prior to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
Norris is charged with bringing together world-leading performance and development programming.
We speak to him about the importance of timing, how we need to do better at getting parent buy-in and what high performance means.
