Thankfully, my son and his fellow grade threes and fours play tag games over the fine grounds of his elementary school where they climb boulders and dodge around trees and bushes. And yes in the rain. He comes home with muddy shoes and holes in his track pants. This is the part of the day that he most enjoys telling me about: His triumphant ‘ambushes’ and finally catching the fastest kid in grade four. From the sounds of things, those kids put in some pretty good mileage and have a great time as well as release some pent up energy so they can focus during their lessons. It’s clearly his favourite ‘subject’, as the old joke goes.
