One Response so far.

Spring Hockey has just started and, for the hockey keeners, this has become the real season after the drudgery and petty politics of minor hockey. In many ways, spring hockey is a lot more pure than minor hockey in terms of fostering, recruiting and rewarding talent. The lack of geographic boundaries and open-ended expenses make for a Darwinian landscape that is honest – this is a competetive sport, after all… no one is twisting anyone’s arm to participate (unlike minor hockey which is a local monopoly and is far from accessible and transparent for the average family). Sure there’s economic elitism but talented, financially poor kids often get subsidized in the name of competetiveness. Play safe!
